An extension prompted this family to rethink their garden, as well as the purchase of part of the field to the rear of their garden. Taking advantage of the view was a prerequisite, as well as plenty of space for friends and family to relax and barbecue.

A large expansive porcelain terrace is broken up with a central planting bed and contemporary water feature, which can also be enjoyed from the new windows looking out onto the terrace. To one side, a large dining space is enhanced with additional storage bench seating which doubles as barbecue prep space. To the other, an L-shaped lounging space, backed by a feature tree to be enjoyed from inside the house as well.

A bank of naturalistic planting ties the garden to the surrounding countryside, while a floating deck bridge connects the entertaining garden with the lawn space beyond.
